Kitasho, the owner of the Kanetsune Seki brand has been making knives in pre-war Japan since 1930. They are located in Seki City which is in central Japan, where it has been called “The City of Cutlery” in Japan and throughout the world. Seki City has the legacy of creating cutlery utilizing the inherited techniques developed through sword making for over 800 years. The Kanetsune brand is named after a famous sword-smith who lived in the Muromachi period around 14th-15th century. Kanetsune strives to continue the traditional techniques of their heritage while establishing new methods and utilizing advanced steel to produce the highest quality.
