Pride Abrasive was founded by Matt and Dorothy Hazlett, who began manufacturing abrasive stones in 1978. Based in Bristol, Wisconsin, Pride Abrasives combines 40+ years of Aluminum Oxide abrasive bonding experience with today’s latest technology to manufacture their line of sharpening and honing products. Engineered and manufactured in the USA, Pride Abrasive sharpening stones are thicker than most other stones on the market and designed to be fast cutting and even wearing. High-quality man-made materials lead to incredibly uniform grits. Utilizing their unique finishing process, they make stones with an ultra-flat finish. Due to their use of high-quality abrasives, their stones cut efficiently and aggressively. Their water stones can be soaked overnight without risk of deterioration and have the perfect combination of hardness and aggressiveness, making a superior product.
