Delrin is the DuPont registered trademark for its brand of acetal resin, also commonly referred to as polyoxymethylene (POM). Since its introduction in 1960, it has been widely used around the world in many applications, due to its unique combination of outstanding characteristics not found in metals or most other plastics—including high mechanical strength and rigidity, toughness and high resistance to repeated impacts, excellent resistant to moisture, gasoline, solvents, and excellent dimensional stability.
