The front, obverse, or finished side of a pocket knife’s master blade. If one opens a knife’s main blade and holds the knife with the blade’s edge downward and its point facing left, then one will be looking at the mark side of the blade. On this side are usually found both the maker’s mark (tang stamp) and the nail mark. The opposite side of the blade is the pile side. (See: Pile Side)
