The Paring Knife, with the blade that tapers to a point, is the most popular kitchen knife and is considered to be the second most often used knife in the kitchen with many home chefs having three or four in the drawer. There are many grips depending on the task and they usually involve holding the item by hand when making the cut. This size blade is ideal for paring, peeling, scraping, slicing, and trimming small fruits and vegetables. It is perfect for chopping garlic, shallots, and ginger.
The Meridian Elite series feature one piece fully forged blades of high carbon, molybdenum vanadium no-stain (stainless) tool steel. Hand sharpened and polished, the blades have a bolsterless Elite edge for incredible sharpness and cutting performance. The handles are made of POM (Polyoxymethylene) riveted directly to the full tang for balance and strength. Each knife is individually gift boxed. Made in Germany.
