6'' Utility Knife, Blue, SpyderEdge
6″ Utility Knife with PlainEdge and Blue Polypropylene Handle
The K04 Utility Knife has a drop-point blade that is ideal for a broad range of kitchen cutting chores, making it the most popular “go-to” knife in many home and commercial kitchens. Like the original version, it features a premium MBS-26 stainless steel blade, ground exceptionally thin and meticulously heat treated for optimal cutting performance. Its durable polypropylene plastic handle is injection molded directly onto the tang of the blade and features a distinctive “stepped” texture pattern that provides exceptional comfort and control during use.
Spyderco’s involvement in kitchen knives dates back to the early 1980’s and the beginnings of the company’s knife production. While fostering manufacturing relationships in Japan for its revolutionary folding knives, Spyderco was offered the chance to produce a series of kitchen knives with a highly regarded Japanese company. They eagerly embraced the opportunity, ultimately introducing a full line of kitchen cutlery and becoming the first company to introduce a commercial Santoku (a distinctive Japanese knife similar to a cleaver) to the U.S. market. After a brief manufacturing hiatus, Spyderco kitchen knives are now back and better than ever. Like the originals, their new kitchen knives are made from premium MBS-26 steel—a high-carbon stainless steel that is ground exceptionally thin and meticulously heat treated for optimal cutting performance. Their durable polypropylene plastic handles are injection molded directly onto the tangs of the blades and feature a distinctive “stepped” texture pattern for comfort and control during use. Depending upon their style and purpose, Spyderco kitchen knives are available with either a PlainEdge or fully serrated SpyderEdge blade with a unique serration pattern that reduces dulling when cutting on a cutting board.
