Etched glass does not wear down like paper or metal files. Non-porous surface prevents absorption of water and the growth of bacteria or mildew. File can be cleaned by running under water, disinfecting, or sterilizing. Can also be used on acrylic nails by first dipping file in water. Comes in a Clear Vinyl sleeve for protection.
