IHST - Shaving Brush - Ivory / Silver Tip
A shaving brush should be filled with real badger hair (and not synthetic or boar bristles), because badger hair is very fine and very elastic, even when wet. It is not porous and has only a fraction of the diameter of pig bristles (from which imitation badger hair is made for shaving brushes). With badger hair (and a good shaving soap), you can work up a very fine and creamy lather, which is what you need to make shaving gentle on your skin. Silver Tip Badger with a hand turned Ivory Resin handle. Complimentary stand included.
SILVER TIP BADGER – This is the finest Badger hair available in the manufacture of shaving brushes and it originates from the neck of the animal. Its limited availability gives the badger hair special status amongst the shaving fraternity, indeed some would deem it the Holy Grail. The hair is untreated and comes in its natural state, shaped by the hand and left un-trimmed to give an exceptionally soft feel. A “flared” bristle load gives results in the ‘silvertip’ brush’s fluffy appearance and lends the brush its ability to hold a large amount of water. Due to its water retention capacity, a ‘silvertip’ brush can create well-formed shaving lather quickly and easily.
Many shaving enthusiasts will use nothing other than silvertip. Parker Silvertip brushes are extremely soft and are superior to many brands costing 4 to 5 times more money. Silvertip Badger is best for those with sensitive skin because of their super soft bristles.
