SWCPB - Shaving Brush - Schima & Chrome / Pure Badger
A shaving brush should be filled with real badger hair (and not synthetic or boar bristles), because badger hair is very fine and very elastic, even when wet. It is not porous and has only a fraction of the diameter of pig bristles (from which imitation badger hair is made for shaving brushes). With badger hair (and a good shaving soap), you can work up a very fine and creamy lather, which is what you need to make shaving gentle on your skin. Pure Badger with a hand turned Schima Wood and Chrome handle. Complimentary stand included.
PURE BADGER – Pure Badger hair is of the highest quality, carefully graded for hand filled brushes. It is regarded as the benchmark in terms of quality by leading shaving brush manufacturers. The hair is dark and silver in appearance, immediately identifying the brush as being of an above average standard and confirming the purity of the hair mixture. This grade of hair is firmer to the touch and is favored by traditionalists looking to exfoliate the skin prior to shaving. The Pure Badger range comes in the classic tapered head shape. Pure Badger Brushes are quite a bit softer than Black Badger. They cost a little more, but many prefer their softer texture. A Parker Pure Badger brush is comparable to many of the brushes that other companies market as “best badger” and “fine badger”. These are our best-selling brushes.
Pure badger hair brushes use the most common hair from the underbelly of a badger, the hair which covers around 60% of a badger’s body. This hair varies greatly in softness, pliability, and color. Pure badger hair is usually dark in color but fluctuates from a light tan to a near-black or silvery sheen. The hair is coarser than ‘best’ or ‘silvertip’ hair due to its larger shaft. Brushes made exclusively with pure badger hair cost significantly less than finer badger hair.
