Alum is a natural mineral found in Europe and used by the Egyptians more than 4,000 years. Alum has astringent and antibacterial properties, calms razor burn, treats shaving nicks, and limits irritations and bumps. In the unfortunate event of nicking yourself while shaving Alum has constricting astringent properties that will curb any minor bleed. It has been used for centuries to calm shaving cuts and damaged skin, and as an underarm natural deodorant and antiperspirant. The Alum block also has antiseptic properties that not only cool and refresh the skin after shaving, but also act as a balm. Simply wet the block, apply to face, and then gently dab dry with a towel.

Be aware that this product is fragile and will shatter if dropped. A little extra care and you can enjoy its benefits for a long time to come. This is a large four ounce size and comes in a convenient plastic storage case.
