Elmer Keith Model - Black Canvas Micarta
Böker continues the tradition of large Bowie knives in this 2014 collector’s series, but nevertheless still goes for innovation. The “Elmer Keith” model (named after a noted sportsman, marksman, and someone who was instrumental in the development of modern cartridges, such as the .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum) as interpreted by well known U.S. custom knife maker Dennis Friedly from Wyoming, enthuses the compact layout and massive double hand guard. This extraordinarily hefty Bowie knife shows off with its outstanding dimensions, superior handling and easy maneuverability without reducing the strength and stability. The most remarkable feature is surely the double hand guard’s characteristic shape, which provides added safety for any cutting chore. The sturdy blade is highly versatile, and finds its roots in the traditional Bowie shape, with the compact layout giving that added stability. The fine satin finish enhances the exclusivity of this collector’s piece, which is a must for every showcase. The blade is made of 440C stainless steel, which still is an excellent compromise between edge retention and easy re-sharpening. The handle is crafted of brown canvas Micarta. Comes complete with a high quality leather sheath and wooden collector’s box. Limited to just 999 pieces worldwide. Blade length: 7½”. Overall length: 12″.
