¡Éste es caliente! The Spyderco Salsa is a spiced-up mighty-mite small knife that cuts and feels like a big blade. There are two Salsas actually. One comes with colorfully anodized aluminum handle-scales available in cranberry or blue that houses a nested Compression Lock. It is outfitted with a heavy-gauge wire clip, positioning the knife for tip-up carry. Salsa number two has a natural colored titanium handle and integral Compression Lock built out of part of the handle scale. The titanium version’s wire clip positions the folder for tip-down carry. Both models have Spyderco’s new Cobra Hood feature. Simply stated, the Cobra Hood is a machined flange of steel that caps the top of the round opening hole in the blade creating a flat ledge. It guides the thumb over the hole positioning it for precise, rapid deployment of the blade. The cap is textured on top for skid-resistant thumb placement during cutting and improves upon the simplicity and function of the one-hand-open hole.
