Designed by custom knifemaker Brad Southard, the Spyderco Positron takes all the best features of a full-service flipper folder and distills them into a compact, pocket-friendly format optimized for everyday carry. A faithful expression of Southard’s “Ion” folder, this Positron features a full-flat-ground satin plain edge blade crafted from premium CPM-S35VN particle-metallurgy stainless steel. This high performance stainless steel is enhanced with Niobium, making it 15-20% tougher than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance or edge retention.

Although it proudly includes Spyderco’s Trademark Round Hole as a symbol of the brand, the Positron is designed only for flipper style opening. To reduce friction, its blade pivots between special washers that contain nested ball bearings that ensure an ultra-smooth, extremely positive opening action and ensures a long service life.

The handle of this Exclusive knife is crafted from high-visibility Orange G-10. Its twin scales are precisely machined, radiused, and polished to create an amazingly comfortable grip. They also house nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners that are the heart of the knife’s sturdy Linerlock mechanism. A reversible deep-pocket wire clip offers either left or right-side tip-up carry and strikes an excellent balance between subtle discretion and immediate access.
