Tread LT - Tungsten DLC
The Tread LT is a slimmer version for added comfort and wearability of the original travel-friendly, go-anywhere functionality of the original Leatherman Tread multi-tool.
The Leatherman Tread has the functionality of a Leatherman tool that you wear on your wrist and can take anywhere and everywhere. Leatherman’s engineers designed multiple tools in each 17-4 PH stainless steel bracelet links, making usable tools like Allen wrenches, screwdrivers and box wrenches available at a moment’s notice.
The Leatherman Tread bracelet is adjustable to a quarter of an inch, accommodating any wrist size and each unique link has several tools—even the clasp has a ¼” socket driver and bottle opener. Need a different tool? The bracelet links are customizable so you can simply use a coin or screwdriver in the slotted fasteners to swap out links for what you need most.
The Leatherman Tread is as stylish as it is functional. Made from hardened 17-4 PH stainless steel, these highly detailed links require injection molding, a process that none of Leatherman’s competitors use in the same level of detail, to craft each complex part (the bit drivers in Leatherman’s multi-purpose tools use the same process).
“The idea originated on a trip to Disneyland with my family,” said President Ben Rivera. “I was stopped at the gate by security for carrying a knife, when what they had actually seen was my Skeletool. I was unwilling to give it up, so they made me take it all the way back to my hotel room. I knew there had to be another way to carry my tools with me that would be accepted by security.” When he returned from his trip, Rivera, who began his tenure at Leatherman Tool Group 24 years ago as an engineer, began by wearing a bike chain bracelet to see how it would feel. As his thoughts took shape, he brought his idea to the engineers at Leatherman who helped fast track his plans. The Tread bracelet began taking shape. At a first glimpse, the Tread looks just like a typical metallic watch bracelet, except there’s nothing ordinary about it. This bad boy packs a total of 25 hard working tools into its bracelet—including Philips and flat head screw drivers, hex and box wrenches, glass breaker, even a cutting hook and the mandatory bottle opener. The interchangeable links (each one has 2 or 3 individual tools on it) are connected via a screw and connector bracket. The bracelet is available in polished stainless steel and black DLC finishes.
