AMBER BONE –
When you find something that works, you stick with it. That’s why Case keeps bringing back the Amber Bone. The golden-amber hue and deep, dark Peachseed jigged lends itself well to just about any knife style allowing the beauty of the natural bone to shine through.
CARBON STEEL (CS) –
This knife is constructed with Case’s 1095 Carbon (CS) steel. Some knife lovers will settle for nothing less than Carbon Steel blades, since this special formula of alloyed steel is the “original” Case blade steel. Case’s Carbon Steel blades are known for their edge-holding ability and easy re-sharpening. However, they are less resistant to rusting, pitting and discoloration than stainless steel. A thin coat of oil or other suitable waterproof coating will preserve the steel’s original appearance while providing you with many years of dependable service. [Please note that there is a running change from Case’s CV (Chrome Vanadium) steel to CS (1095 High Carbon) steel. 1095 is nearly identical in composition to their Chrome Vanadium steel, in fact Case’s Chrome Vanadium is a custom blend of 1095 steel. Like Case’s Chrome Vanadium, 1095 steel is part of a class of steels where carbon is the principal alloying element that gives the steel high tensile strength, wear resistance and toughness. Both CV and 1095 carbon steel blades are also known for their edge retention and ease of re-sharpening.]
