HIGOOUTA - Higonokami - Laminated VG-10
Higonokami is the name of Japanese traditional pocket knives that has been produced since late 19th century. The knife has no locking system, but is a friction folder, using the friction of the swivel and the pressure of the user’s thumb on a protruding tang to prevent the knife from folding during use. Traditionally, the Higo No Kami was carried by tradesmen and skilled laborers in Japan for use in their crafts. Woodworkers, Carpenters and even Cooks would carry the Higo No Kami as a part of their occupation. Higonokami are considered the Japanese version of Opinel because of its popularity and simplicity.
