Cat - G-10 / PlainEdge / BD1N
Why do knife companies apply animal names and descriptions to their knives? In their defense, the Spyderco round hole and super sharp edge are reminiscent of eyes and claws. Think cats. Cats represent a highly developed level of predatory resourcefulness, sleek sharp claws and efficiency.
The C129 Cat CLIPIT has a leaf-shaped CTS BD1N blade just over two-inches in length and is flat-ground for hair popping sharpness. Spyderco’s Cat is unique. They aimed for a high pinnacle of cutting adeptness, but demanded it be polished and sophisticated in appearance. Combining cat-claw sharpness with a G-10 handle and Michael Walker Linerlock, it cuts like a lion and looks like a supermodel. The handle is shaped and sized ergonomically with full-length skeletonized liners tucked inside for strength without bulky weight. A reversible, deep-pocket wire clip provides discreet, ambidextrous tip-up carry.
The Cat is the perfect cutting tool for carry in jurisdictions with strict blade-length limitations providing plenty of cutting capability while remaining legally permissible practically anywhere.
