On August 1, 1907, Waldmin & Saam was founded August Waldmin and Fritz Saam. The company, Waldmin & Saam, whose company logo "WASA" is still one of the most important World-famous names for quality shears.
As one of the few remaining scissors and shears manufactures in Solingen, Germany, all WASA products are handcrafted from the best steels, hot dropped forged, hardened, tempered, hand ground, plated, polished, and honed, and guaranteed exceed the standing for Solingen Quality standards and DIN regulations, being made by a legacy of skilled craftsman—a trade learned from father to son for over one hundred years. All scissors are carefully inspected and individually tested for cutting ability. It takes more than eighty steps to finish one of these steel masterpieces - a guarantee for true workmanship in renowned Solingen fashion.
They are the “specialized specialists” making a diverse line of scissors that span the range of sizes, shapes, needs, and uses. Many of WASA’s designs date back over a century or more and are commonly mistaken as antiques, as the same patterns have been made for generations.
