1796 Light Cavalry Saber - (Steel Scabbard)
Widely used by the British and their Prussian allies at the Battle of Waterloo, this saber’s blade was derived from the ferocious Indian Talwar. It was reviled by the French who protested its use due to the horribly destructive wounds it inflicted. In fact, this saber was so successful that the German Cavalry continued to use it into the beginning of the 20th century! If you want a combat quality saber that will pass the British Proof Test, this is a must have! The 1796 Light Cavalry Saber comes fully sharpened. This version has a wood/leather scabbard with steel mounts and fittings. Also available with an all steel scabbard (#88SS)
