Hunter’s Axe –

Specially made for hunters. The poll (butt) is forged thinner than normal, gently rounded and burnished to be used when skinning an animal. The axe is good for chopping wood as well as meat. The grip of the handle has circular grooves which gives a steady grip. The axe face has a 3¼’’ cutting edge and a 19″ hickory handle. Comes with a full grain leather sheath (cover) and a copy of The Axe Book. Weight: 1.5 lbs.

Produced by highly skilled blacksmiths, Gränsfors Bruk axes are forged from a special Swedish steel developed for axes. The proof of their forging prowess is such that no supplementary work (grinding or painting), that would hide imperfections and mistakes, is necessary. The blades are hardened and tempered to the correct toughness for maximum performance. The handles are made from first quality American hickory, properly fitted and wedged to the axe head, that are then oiled and provided with a grain-leather cover. All steps in production are carefully tested and checked. When finished, the smith stamps each head with the company stamp and his initials as a testament to his skill and pride.
