Raud M – Medium / Birch

Raud is a new family of Helle folders – one small and one medium sized. Based on the same mechanism as Kletten and Nipa respectively. Raud meaning “Red” commemorates the classic workmen designs and celebrates the functional aspects that Scandinavian knives have thrived on throughout Helle’s history.

Raud M is slightly bigger than the S version, but still small enough for pocket carry. For most hands the handle will fit a four-finger grip. Raud M comes with a detachable clip for secure carry. The Raud combines light weight with sturdy construction and a Sandvik 12C27 blade. Small enough for pocket carry, but big enough for real work. For normal hands, the deep oiled, red birch handle is just big enough for a four-finger grip.

Since early times, the Norwegian knife has been an important companion in everyday life. Norwegian knife manufacturing today is clearly influenced by traditional shapes and materials that were established hundreds of years ago. Laminated steel is another Norwegian tradition that is rarely found in other parts of the world.
